These products
generally include inverters in the frequency range 200 Hz to
50 kHz. The lower frequencies are covered by thyristor type
voltage fed inverters and are typically used in billet, bar,
tube and pipe and general heating up to 10 kHz. The higher frequencies
including 1 kHz to 50 kHz are covered by the insulated Gate
Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) voltage fed inverters. Powers are
available from 25kW to 2000kW in single units and we will design
the system to suit the application.
| I.G.B.T inverters
are used for Brazing, tube/wire heating, for galvanising
and coating, heat-treatment, optical fibre production, crystal
growing, automotive body-in-white spot/hem bonding, curing,
general annealing, die-heating, forging pre-heating and many
other general induction heating applications. Inductoheat voltage
fed inverters have free-running rectifiers with a constant input
power factor of 0.94 up to the 300 kW output range of IGBT,
and above 300 kW for the SCR type. All higher powered units
operate with an input phase angle controller. Inverter operating
efficiencies all between 85% and 95% dependent upon model. |

Inductoheat, alternatively, have a low
frequency IGBT inverter operating down to 30Hz, which is digitally controlled
and optimised for multi-zone temperature gradient billet
heating. |
